Mark Zusak
Markus Frank Zusak, an Australian author, was born in Sydney, Australia in 1975 to an Austrian father and a German mother. As the youngest of four children, Zusak realized he wanted to be a writer at sixteen years-old and finished his first manuscript two years later. Overall, Zusak has published six books. He is best known for his young adult books The Messenger and The Book Thief, both of which have become international bestsellers. In 2014 Zusak won the Margaret A. Edwards Award for his contributions to young adult literature, and he was also awarded the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Australian Novelist of the Year Award in 2006. Zusak currently resides in Australia with his wife and two children. |
